Selection, installation of the appropriate trap as long as there is steam through, there will be no freezing problems.

Selection, installation of the appropriate trap as long as there is steam through, there will be no freezing problems. However, if the steam is cut off, the steam condensate will form a vacuum in the heat exchanger or the accompanying pipe. This prevents condensation from freely draining out of the system before freezing occurs. Therefore, a vacuum breaker should be installed between the discharge equipment and the trap. If gravity discharge is not used from the trap to the return pipe, the trap and discharge pipeline should be discharged manually or automatically using a discharge pipe with antifreeze measures. Also, when multiple traps are installed together in the trap station, the trap insulation can prevent freezing.

Trap antifreeze measures are:

1. Do not select the trap size is too large.

2. Keep the drain line as short as possible.

3. Tilt the drain valve discharge pipeline downward to speed up the gravity discharge.

4. Heat insulation shall be added for drain valve discharge pipeline and condensate return pipeline.

5. When the condensate water return pipeline is exposed to atmospheric conditions, heat tracing pipes should be considered.

6. If the return pipe rises, the vertical discharge pipe should be connected with the return water.

The discharge pipe on the upper part of the header is adjacent, and the discharge pipe and the drain valve discharge pipe are insulated together.
